  • 👍 "All the yes" Ingredients

    Feed me!

If it's not listed below, ask me - expect a "no, and..." a note with replacement ideas (nerd emoji) I've released labels and embraced what my body says to eat... In essence: Poultry, Squash, & Daisy family ...to expand upon that and the experimentations:

    Meats

As much as I want to meat-free, I've found my body needs it; simply not in every meal - discovered through primal/paleo experimentation.

    1. Bison (omg LOVE! Especially to strategically support my moon cycle - big mood balancing support)
    2. Pulled chicken (basics)
    3. Turkey (when I could use sleep assistance)
    4. Tuna (really well-sourced, AAA sushi grade)

    Mushrooms

This is an active discovery effort! Tell me more about how each mushroom impacts the body & let's explore more varieties together!

    1. Oyster
    2. Chantrelle

    Nope's

I don't know why, my body simply rejected it at least 3 times...

    A. No white

    B. No shitake

    C. No portabello

    Herbs & Spices

Any herb I can grow in the hydroponic setup, I do - it tastes so much better! One of my goals is to be able to make chai from what grows in my home.

    1. Oregano (earthy)
    2. Holy Basil (earth, different than "Basil")
    3. Ginger (I'm a ginger fiend!)
    4. Marjoram
    5. Star Anise (spice)
    6. Ceylon Cinnamon (spice, different than other varieties)
    7. Nutmeg (spice)
    8. Clove (spice)

Test Kitchen - I continue to dabble to see how my body may be evolving; proceed with caution and when in doubt, lean into Ayurvedic wisdom...

    A. Cumin

    B. Coriander

    C. Sage

    D. Allspice

    E. Tarragon

    F. Peppercorn varieties

    G. Tumeric

    H. Parsley

    I. Bay Leaf

    Nope's

    A. No capsaicin (cayenne, chili, peppers

    B. No Basil (different than Holy Basil)

    Seeds

Because I'm aware of my adversity to diverticulitis... All seeds get super ground into powder and used as a "seasoning"

    1. Flax seed (ground/powderize)
    2. Holy Basil seed (ground/powderize)
    3. Pumpkin seed (ground/powderize)
    4. Hemp hearts / Shelled Hemp seeds (as is, they liquify)
    5. Fennel (ground/powderize)

Test Kitchen - I continue to dabble to see how my body may be evolving; proceed with caution and when in doubt, lean into Ayurvedic wisdom...

    A. Sesame (ground/powderize)

    B. Caraway (ground/powderize)

    Edible Flowers

Home-grown around the various hydroponic "snack stations" - they're literal edible arrangements XD Some station are dedicated for tea and labeled with calendar reminders so I remember when to harvest.

    1. Daisies
    2. Lavender
    3. Pansies
    4. Roses
    5. Chamomile

    Berries

Mkay, let's align on some of my foundations:

    - To me, a berry is a food that grows from a flower with many seeds on the inside.

    - A serving size is how much one hand can hold - my hand holds about 1/4 cup.

    - Leverage foraging when possible, then choose what would grow naturally in the local climate, followed by nutritional supplementation.

    - For all things alive and living, always verify what's organic - eat what's alive - and if it's over-priced or rotting on the shelf, go somewhere else; if there's a will then there's a way

    - Manifest local organic! Make it happen.

    1. Banana (serving: the length of a thumb from the wrist to tip)
    2. Blueberries
    3. Raspberries
    4. Blackberries
    5. Boisonberries
    6. Chokeberries
    7. Gooseberries
    8. Cloudberries
    9. Currants
    10. Zucchini
    11. Pumpkin

    Nope's

I don't know why, my body simply rejected it at least 3 times...

    A. No grapes

    B. No cranberries

    Leafies

I've become "that guy" when it comes to leafies... I have a hydroponic setup because lettuce is too pricey, doesn't last long enough, tastes weird, and the specific lettuce my body doesn't react to can be hard to find ...but the organic etc etc seeds can be traded and even acquired online!

    1. Romaine
    2. Endive

    Nuts

My NUTritionist recommended I lean away from inflammatory nuts, and that opened a rabbit hole of restrictions...

    1. Macademia
    2. Walnut
    3. Pecan

    Nope's

    A. No Almonds (inflammatory)

    B. No Peanuts (soy/inflammatory, plus it's not a nut)

    Veggies

    1. Carrots

What is a veggie anymore? >.< My reality got flipped when I adopted the "what is a berry" fundamentals.

    Nope's

    A. No onions (Replace with asafetida)

    B. No garlic (Replace with fennel)

    Oils

    1. Avocado Oil (My FIRST go to)
    2. Ancient Ghee (the good one)
    3. Olive Oil (although I lean away when I can

    Sweeteners

By this time, all the flavors are playing well and don't need sweeteners for my palette ...UNLESS I'm in a mood and the only cure is more of that sweet sweet cow bell!

    1. Honey (from the hive, no additives ...I own that I'm a honey enthusiast, and I'm here for it!)
    2. Maple Syrup (from the tree, preferably of Canadian variety)
    3. Monk Fruit (it's travel-friendly)
    4. Chocolate (omg am I picky... Here's a specific list of chocolate options)

    Altered State Treats

Want to Get Me Buzzing? My body does not process alcohol BUT it does process NA (Non-alcoholic) beverages, elixers (liquid botanicals), mocktails (no sugar style), AND... I discovered something wild: Apple Juice (Treetop brand) and Ice Cream (organic dairy) put me in a buzzed/drunken state.

    1. Truly, I love elixers - relax me through a botanical elixer while my body replenishes it's systems as we sit together in a beautiful space - that's the real treat!
    2. I try to stay away from cirtus - BUT a big, low acidic Naval Orange or Pineapple with some Salt - yum!
    3. When possible, I lean away from stone fruit - BUT a big Mango or bag of Cherries are so tasty and shareable; and that juicy Palisade Peach season gets me making a pie every year (I love you, Auntie Debbie!)
